The IFS (alignable at any GM dealer or frontend shop) features an 11-inch disc-brake package utilizing '70-81 Camaro front-steer spindles, rotors (retaining your stock 5-on-4 3/4 wheel bolt-pattern), calipers and balljoints. The 2 X 4 X .188-inch wall box-tube front crossmember holds D.O.M. (drawn over mandrel) seamless, steel tube 1 1/4-inch od X .156-inch wall lower A-arms and 1-inch od X .156-inch wall D.O.M. seamless, steel tube upper A-arms. A '79-93 Mustang manual rack-and-pinion steering unit connects the front steer spindles. aluminum/adjustable coilovers are standard items on all chassis. Our Ford and GM pickup weld-in IFS is available two ways, standard or heavy duty. The standard IFS is available in 57-inch and 59-inch tread widths with 5-on-4 3/4 bolt pattern. It features a 2 X 4 X .188-inch wall box-tube crossmember that holds the D.O.M. 1-inch diameter X .156-inch wall lower tubular A-arms and 7/8-inch diameter X .156-inch wall upper tubular A-arms. Steering is provided by a Flaming River manual rack-and-pinion, while two '70-81 GM Camaro spindles, ball joints, 11-inch rotors, and calipers give you stock over-the-counter GM parts available most everywhere! With a two-position lower mount and a three-position upper mount, the aluminum, adjustable coilover-shocks will give the stance you like best!
Your options (can be substituted at an additional cost) include a '83-89 T-Bird power rack, 12-inch diameter rotors with 5-on-5 wheel bolt battern, bolt-pattern changes, front sub-frames, anti-sway bars, and different tread-widths are available.
The upper IFS tower has a three-position adjustable upper coilover or air bag mount and a two position lower A-arm mount for either (shown on page 3 in our catalog). The rear coilover also has a three position lower mount. This all adds up to an adjustable 3-5-inches of stance that is right for you! The adjustable trans-crossmember will accept any GM trans too!
Your options are limitless! Some of the most popular are tubbing, an additional step over the front and/or rear suspension, mounts for any engine/trans combination, custom front or rear track width, dropped spindles, 1-inch diameter sway bars front and/or rear, 12-inch GM front disc brakes with 5-on-5 wheel bolt battern, or high performance Wilwood disc brakes front and rear, Explorer rear disc, (most packages include rear parking brake), power steering, power brakes, and under floor pedals (brake/clutch). Air Ride Technologies air bag systems front and rear, using either the new ShockWave® unit or Firestone airbags complete with onboard pump, tank, gauges/switches, solenoid pack, and suspension bump stops are also optional. Two styles of rear locating bars either Panhard rod or diagonal link are available. Optional rearends include Alston's FAB9, Halibrand's V8 quick-change, Championship style quick-change, new '58 Ford style housing, or you name it! All rearends are available with gears, axles, bearings, and seals at an additional cost.
